Raised in a family that valued hard work and social justice, Mike learned from a young age the importance of taking action. Whether it was marching for the ERA with his mother or later stepping up to make his own street safer, Mike has always been driven to make a difference.

His diverse background, from working as a diver exploring the Caribbean and Central and South America to building a successful career in employment law, has equipped him with a unique perspective and the skills to tackle complex issues. While working his way up at a public policy firm, Mike dedicated himself to furthering his education by taking night classes at Harvard University. This experience instilled in him the discipline and perseverance necessary to achieve his goals while balancing work and study. He later earned his law degree from Fordham University in New York City. As a councilman and mayor in Key Biscayne, Mike consistently delivered results, keeping taxes low while investing in schools and sustainability.

Now, Mike is answering the call to serve in Congress because he believes our community deserves serious leadership to address serious problems. He's not interested in partisan games, but in finding common ground and delivering real solutions – a stark departure from the extreme partisanship he sees from the likes of Maria Elvira Salazar.
